Isat Aquaba Buchanan was born in Saint Andrew, Jamaica, on December 12, 1978. A brilliant, resilient and extraordinary young man. As you read you will see how befitting those targeted descriptive words are in reference to Isat Buchanan. Professionally, he is an Attorney-At-Law and an Artist. He attended Meadowbrook High School, the University of the West Indies and then went onto the Norman Manley Law School where he completed his law degree.


ISAT (Eyesat), was born into a musical family being one of the sons of Manley Augustus Buchanan, a Prominent Reggae Icon known as Big Youth. So entrenched in the music industry was Isat, that in 1990, he and his brother who is also an artist became founders of a Rap Group which at the time was called “Thug Hype.”


Notwithstanding, his family’s extensive musical exposure ISAT wanted. to become a Gynaecologist but destiny took him on a 360-degree journey; changing his career path to what he is today; an Attorney-At-Law, but fate didn’t just give him a platform in the courts but intertwined it with a legacy in his bloodline… music.

In 2009, the Artist ISAT cemented his musical career, by producing a song named “Dance The Night Away.” Despite now being a renowned Attorney-at-law, ISAT’s love for music remains strong and amidst his busy schedule, he makes time to compose and vocalise his songs. He describes his musical sound as being palatable and smooth lovers-rock, using the genre “Reggae Fusion. He has collaborated with Zzambo and Big Youth and has worked with producers such as Jermaine ‘J August’ Reid, Dale Virgo, Noah Mason and Brett Bailey.


ISAT AQUABA BUCHANAN has been in media and on many stages promoting the message that God is love, and that “You Matter.” He is on a mission to promote freedom of expression and hopes to expand his advocacy and use his platform to assist underprivileged Jamaicans.
